When I came back from India in May, I needed new makeup. And I am DONE with putting any chemicals on my skin. So I started to make the big switch over to organic, clean makeup, one piece at a time.

Guess what … my skin looks so much better!

Replacing all of your toxic chemical-laden makeup is daunting. So don’t do it all at once! Replace one item at a time, as you run out of makeup.

Here are some of my new favorites:

John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner is way more expensive that I’m used to paying but it works so well and smells so good. Plus – it is NOT easy to find shampoo without sodium laurel sulfate that still “works” and this one does. Worth it!

I also saw a picture of myself with all these “smile lines” (aka wrinkles) and freaked out so I am using his Vitamin C Anti-Aging Face Serum, which is so soft and nice.

I am using RMS Beauty Lip Shine instead of lead-filled lipsticks. I’m using RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up and Living Luminizer for a touch of radiant glow as well.

100% PURE
After the wrinkle fiasco, I purchased the Argan Oil Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30 by 100% Pure. I wear it every day and like it very much. I also got their mascara and it is great, not clumpy at all.

Do you want to look flawless today? The Vapour Soft Focus Foundation is to die for. It’s like putting soft fluffy clouds on your skin, and it smells so light and fresh. It runs around $50 so you’ll want to use sparingly but it’s truly amazing.

For years I’ve been trying to find a natural deodorant that works for me, with some disastrous consequences.  The brands that worked for other people — Weleda, Toms of Maine, Soapwalla — failed me terribly. Needless to say, the baking soda and tea tree oil didn’t work either.

At last! I have found a wonderful natural deodorant by Lavanila. I have Vanilla Coconut and Vanila Grapefruit scents. No aluminum, no parabens, no animal testing. Smells delicious! I keep one at home and one in my purse, just in case.

There are some great resources on the internet if you want to clean up your routine and start putting nice organic ingredients on your skin instead of slathering with chemicals:
